I loved the Judge portrayed by @bradders_david in the BBC TV Series 'Silk', now being rerun. All three seasons, on Amazon prime. He is in Season 3, Episode 4.

@Janekelly25 @marksandspencer Only one offered on Amazon! Are they out of favour? My mother used to cook spring cabbage in one, along with other veg, of course, and it was my favourite. Absolutely gorgeous!

@marksandspencer Your 'Scottish Salmon en Croute' has no instructions on the packet for defrosting. Could you please say how long it takes?

@Janekelly25 @marksandspencer Thanks, I'll look into that. I was never taught cooking. At school, the girls learned it while the boys were marched off to another place and we got a lump of red-hot metal and a big hammer to bash it with. Highly useful.

@JH_Atkinson @marksandspencer Tins of stew? Are you related to Albert Steptoe? Buy some stewing steak, add onions & perhaps garlic, and stew it!

@Janekelly25 @marksandspencer I've had them too, and they cook fine from frozen, even in my decrepit oven. One thing I like at M&S are the tins of Irish Stew, which are extremely tasty.

A recent article in New Scientist showed how in South Australia the price of electricity fell by 30% when battery storage was invested in. Will @TheGreenParty finally add the missing components to our renewable energy transition?

@Jesii_ca_M Because they like to argue. There was a certain conjuror who claimed to be able to bend metal using only the power of his mind. While common sense tells you that is impossible, scientists went bananas testing him. Another conjuror showed how it was done, but he was ignored.

@NASA I remember when the Apollo were on their way to the moon, at the point when the moon's gravity took over from Earth's, it slowed down to about 200mph. Does that apply to Artemis II?

It’s not a straight shot to the far side of the Moon! 🌕 Over approximately 10 days, the Artemis II astronauts will orbit Earth twice before looping around the far side of the Moon in a figure eight and returning home.

@Janekelly25 @BBCr4today I explained to someone what ' confirm' actually meant, then asked him to confirm the time. He looked at his watch and told me the time. One other thing; why has 'off of' suddenly appeared? Basically, that's my rant for today ... basically.

@BBCr4today Instead of 'Yourself,' can you try 'You.' To be honest, myself, I think it's good to stick to, like, English, you know?

@Janekelly25 @BBCr4today Basically, I know what you mean, basically. One thing that annoys me is when people use 'confirm' to mean 'can you tell me'. As in, "Can you confirm your date of birth?" I can't confirm it, but I can tell you what it is.

What was a #Roman #dodecahedron for? There must be a simple explanation. Perhaps they were not made for anything. Perhaps they were made to prove something? Perhaps they were made by Roman apprentice blacksmiths to prove their abilities? One of these:

@Janekelly25 OK, which old village should be called 'Much Muddle in the Marsh'?

There's a plan by #Labour to rename old villages, including Seacole & Pankshurst. They know 0 about those ladies, & Mrs P stood for election as a Tory. She was also heavily into #eugenics & wanted the extinction of the poor.

@Janekelly25 He's looking for glory, of the kind that Alexander or Napoleon achieved. Both of them crashed, since getting out at peak achievement is not an option. Trump is cut from the same cloth.

Did #trump always want to kill thousands of people? It's doubtful that he goes to an analyst, so we shall never see a report on the nature of his psychosis.

@hrcastor A further thought; given the climate at the time, one other thing to consider is hypothermia. I have been invited to attend when an attempt will be made to find the oubliette. I think I've worked out why the trapdoor disappeared.

@JH_Atkinson The chronicles (Walsingham and Usk) talk of starvation in terms of food, but (given the timing) I suspect you're right that - if we accept some version of this explanation - we should be thinking in terms of dehydration as a principal cause of his death.

Tidying out my kitchen drawers has been fascinating. So far I've found an old packet of prescription pills & my cats' birth certificate.
