I'm suddenly getting tons more followers with zero engagement. Is Musk sensing that I'm about to delete this hell hole of an app and is trying to keep me here?

So if I want a good product that doesn't completely break the bank, I have to constantly mash my fingers on fucking plastic just to get it to do what I want. I'm so done with touch controls. I need knobs and buttons. It's absurd.

Moving into a new home and needing lots of new things has brought something to my attention. Lower end appliances tend to have buttons, dials, switches, physical controls. Quality midrange ones are all touch controls. High end very expensive ones have buttons, dials, switches.

I beat 3 decades of depression but it's left a mark on me that I'll live with for the rest of my life.

I've had a really difficult life, and it left me feeling completely empty. I got married to the love of my life, have a baby with her, and recently moved into a beautiful home. I still feel empty inside. But you know what? That just means I have so much room to fill with joy.

I firmly believe that people who have to rules lawyer their diety just to live their own life need to find a hobby or something to dedicate themselves to instead. The rules are silly and made up, and working to find a loophole is an admission of such.

Life has a will to live. It's determined to not just survive, but to thrive. Where it can't survive, it waits. You're a part of that. If you're in an environment where survival is difficult, then you wait for favorable conditions where you can thrive. Never give up.

There's so many micro organisms on the moon that tagged along on our equipment, just waiting. Like tardigrades, just sitting in stasis, waiting for a teeny bit of atmosphere and water to come back to life. Something in their evolutionary history relied on this ability.

When we look up on a clear night, we're peering into the infinite. If life didn't originate here, but is here anyway, then life is absolutely *everywhere*. If life is everywhere and can live in the most extreme environment available, then life is a consequence of existence.

No atmosphere, near absolute zero and boiling temps, no water, and yet living things can survive in this environment for eons. I think a lot of life on this planet didn't come from here. Further, if there's life here that's not from here, then there's life elsewhere.

Why would a creature with its origins on an atmospheric planet be able to survive the vacuum of space? Why would something on a planet with liquid water that reaches every corner be able to survive for thousands or tens of thousands of years floating on a rock in space?

With evolution, things that aren't useful or needed tend not to be passed on. Life is a delicate balance of usefulness vs cost. How useful is any given structure for a biological creature? Is it worth the energy cost? Does it have any disadvantages?

You know what really makes me think? There are numerous species of organisms on earth that can survive the vacuum and radiation of space. Further, many of these species can effectively put themselves into stasis indefinitely. Things that originated on earth wouldn't do that 🧵
