Picture it—April 23, 1985. After 99 years, the Coca-Cola Company announced a new formula, “New Coke,” which was a sweeter taste than the classic Coca-Cola. Depending on where you lived or if you were a Coke fan, you may love or hate New Coke. But if you were a southern Coke fan, you were about to launch a backlash that would send New Coke into the “marketing blunder” hall of fame! To Coke fans in the south, this was a personal attack. After all, Coca-Cola was from Atlanta, while Pepsi was a product from NY. The backlash was so severe that three months later, the original formula was back, branded as “Coca-Cola Classic”. New Coke still lived on in some regions of the U.S., was renamed Coke II, and made a brief resurgence in 2019 as a collaboration with Netflix. Coke and Pepsi are often used to “judge” someone’s character, just as we ask, “Are you a cat or a dog person?” So, which one are you? Coke or Pepsi?!

🇺🇸 US Army Private First Class Rachel Bosveld, was killed 🕊️on October 26, 2003, during a mortar attack on the Abu Ghraib Police Station in Baghdad. She enlisted in the Army after graduating in June 2002, following in the footsteps of her father, who served in the Army from 1967-1969, and brother Craig, who also served in the Army. When she first got to Iraq, her father daid that she was ready to "kick butt”. Rachel was just 19. #RIP #NeverForgotten
