@seancallanan Good take, I mostly consume podcasts and alternative media re AFL. Traditional AFL media has a lot of sameness about it and is heavily influenced by not losing privileges with headquarters

Pridham: “Victorian clubs travel very little compared to non-Victorian clubs and this is some way to try to balance it out.” this argument is ridiculous. Yes, the travel is inbalanced, but it has been and will continue to be as long as there are at least 10 teams in Victoria. Something which has been fact since a Victorian team moved to Sydney. Every club that joined the league has been aware of this from day 1 and the bleating from non victorian clubs on this is utter nonsense.

@pauljarm @RileyBev The dogs were full of momentum and then had to sit idle for 16 days … no forgetting they play hawks, Sydney and crows twice before playing tigers/kangeroos and west coast, how does a side that miss the finals last season get stitched up like that

The AFL has moved to explain Friday's double-headers. The view is broadcast figures don't change significantly for non-Vic games, but local attendance is maximised by playing in marquee slots. Of the double-headers, 7/10 will be played outside of Victoria. afl.com.au/news/1498093/t…

@JRW1973 Hawthorn did the same thing to us last year and they were missing way more players. Scoreline flattered us in that game, they were in control just like tonight, and we were wasteful, just like tonight.
