@PVInspector Haha. Next you’ll be upset that our crime reporter didn’t do stories about all the people who didn’t commit a crime today!

@JSJamato Hey Sean, while it sucks that municipalities are losing out on 250 million it’s 6% of the total paid to them from oil and gas. Just like a broken record you highlight the 6% but say nothing of the 3.75 billion paid. You hate Danielle Smith so much, not a real journalist.

Alberta is bringing in a new plan to force oil and gas companies to pay their property taxes, possibly including the cancellation of licenses. But as Sean Amato reports, UCP ministers say more than $250 million may already be lost. #ableg #cdnpoli

@PVInspector @JSJamato Just to be clear, you think that journalists should cover this story: "Many oil and gas companies pay their property taxes"
That's not a story. Having 200 companies in arrears and a quarter of a billion dollars in unpaid taxes is a story. Sorry if it hurts your feelings.

Alberta’s deeply controversial Bill 2, the one that forced 51,000 striking teachers back to work and imposed a contract on them, survived round 1 in court Friday. But as Sean Amato reports, the ATA is vowing to keep fighting. #ableg #cdnpoli

A group of Edmonton landowners erected blockades on an oil site in southwest Edmonton Thursday, alleging non-payment and government inaction. As Sean Amato reports, the energy minister wrote it off as the work of “actvists.” #ableg #cdnpoli

The Alberta NDP is demanding the government change the law, so parents and the public receive more information, faster about any abuse charges at daycares. As Sean Amato reports, MLAs say it took 82 days in one recent case. #ableg #cdnpoli

Alberta ministers struggled Tuesday to say what they will do differently to regain the trust of Treaty Chiefs, following a vote of non-confidence. As Sean Amato reports, one UCP MLA said the motion is “somewhat” unfair to his government. #ableg #cdnpoli

I tried to clarify this with MLA Cyr today but his staff said he was unavailable and he refused to stop and talk to reporters. #ableg #cdnpoli
The Breakdown@TheBreakdownAB
Wow! A question from the Western Standard backfired yesterday when they tried to ask Chiefs if the Chiefs had engaged with separatists to hear their concerns… And ended with UCP MLA Scott Cyr being named directly as an alleged separatist! #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

A petition looking to oust Alberta Premier Danielle Smith from her seat in the legislature has failed. calgary.citynews.ca/2026/03/10/alb…
English

@z9p7tpnhy8 @ABDanielleSmith It's still pretty early in the price spike, but a good question going forward, for sure.

@JSJamato Hey Sean, now that oil is $89/bbl right now, @ABDanielleSmith should be dropping her Alberta gas tax ($0.13), will media ask her that question?
People probably forgot about this tax, but I didn’t.

Both the premier of Alberta and the opposition leader are promising to campaign against separation, with Danielle Smith saying she already is. As Sean Amato reports, it comes as Forever Canadian begins to expand its
