Women play many roles every day, but when given the right opportunities and support, they step into the role that inspires the most - becoming role models for generations to come. Under the leadership of Mrs. Sangita Jindal, Chairperson of JSW Foundation, the organisation has placed women’s empowerment at the heart of its community initiatives. JSW Foundation works to create opportunities that enable women to build skills, strengthen livelihoods, and take on leadership roles within their communities. JSW Foundation is creating pathways for women to access dignified employment through skill development initiatives, including training programmes in nursing, hospitality, and other service-sector careers. These programmes equip women with industry-relevant skills and open doors to sustainable livelihood opportunities in India and abroad. Through partnerships with leading institutions and community organisations, JSW Foundation is strengthening women’s participation in rural economies by supporting research, knowledge sharing, and leadership development for women, recognising their vital role in sustaining rural livelihoods. Across several programme locations, JSW Foundation works with women’s collectives and self-help groups, while also providing entrepreneurship training, livelihood support, and capacity-building initiatives. These efforts are enabling women to access economic opportunities, strengthen their agency, and become powerful agents of change within their families and communities. Dame Zandra Rhodes, the iconic British fashion and textile designer, visited the Tarang Tailoring Unit in Vijayanagar, Karnataka, accompanied by artist Andrew Logan and Michael, during her visit to Hampi Art Labs. Our team guided them through the unit, showcasing how community-level initiatives are creating meaningful opportunities for women. Through skill development and tailoring training, Tarang is enabling women to build sustainable livelihoods, generate income, and move towards greater financial independence for a future that’s #BetterEveryday. #JSWFoundation

At the prestigious National CSR Summit 2026, Bharat Mandapam, JSW Foundation was honoured for excellence in Skilling and Education, shaping a generation that is skilled, gig-ready and empowered for sustainable livelihoods. The award is powerful endorsement of impact that is structured, scalable and transformative. It was also a proud moment to engage with the Honourable Vice President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, whose words reaffirmed that CSR can be a true force in building a resilient and equitable future. Science is best learned when it’s tried, tested, and explored. Through the India Literacy Project (ILP) Science Kit initiative under the Karnataka Model School Pathways Programme (KMSPP), science is moving beyond textbooks and into young hands across Karnataka. Using low-cost, everyday materials, students from Grades 5–10 are building, experimenting, and discovering concepts on their own. With 100 schools, 11,188 students, 116 trained teachers, and eight experiments independently conducted by every learner each year, science has become a participatory experience that builds confidence among these students. When opportunity is created at home, progress begins locally. On 18th February 2026, JSW Foundation marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of Nagaland’s first all-women BPO centre in Dimapur, under JSW Shakti initiative. Through this initiative, JSW Foundation has established a partnership with Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) to create meaningful employment opportunities for women in the region. The centre was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, reflecting a shared commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development in the North East. This all-women BPO facility will empower rural and underprivileged women with access to skills, dignified employment, and financial independence — connecting local talent to the global service economy. Happy to inaugurate the JSW Women-Centric BPO, a project under JSW Shakti and initiated by @IdanNagaland. This represents not only a partnership, but also a shared commitment to inclusive growth, skill development, and the empowerment of our women.

Keeping villages clean starts with putting the right waste systems in place. We at JSW foundation has put this into action by setting up a Solid Waste Management (SWM) Unit at Burdi Village in FY 2024–25. The SWM unit has a total capacity of 10 tons per day, operated through 4 machines, each having a capacity of 2.5 tons. From village-level awareness to converting waste into fertiliser, the initiative follows an integrated model. Till now, it has transformed 34 villages through community-led sanitation initiatives and has brought many more meaningful changes at the grassroots level. This integrated model has recently also gained appreciation from National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) Regional Officers, reaffirming our efforts to shape a #BetterEveryday for the communities around. #JSWFoundation

According to the Indian Cancer Society (ICS), cancer cases in India may rise by 67% by 2045, making early action more critical than ever. At JSW Foundation, we believe preserving heritage is an enduring responsibility. For over five decades, the Archaeological Museum, Hampi at Kamalapura, Karnataka has safeguarded the material memory of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Established in 1972 and built on discoveries from excavations since 1976, its collection of sculptures, ceramics, figurines, metal objects, coins, and copper plate inscriptions stands as evidence of time, craft, and civilisation. Solving India’s water crisis requires more than short-term fixes. It calls for systems and solutions that last. At JSW Foundation, our approach to water security is simple: work with the land, not against it. We invest in long-term, community-led solutions, from reviving traditional water structures to building new ones tailored to each terrain. We co-create water management plans with villagers, design storage systems that survive dry spells and help prioritise ownership, so that progress doesn’t stop when the project ends. And because of this deep, location-based work, over 100,000 households and 58 villages now have access to safe, reliable water every day. The impact? Better health, more time for education and a shift from survival to stability, making lives #BetterEveryday. #JSWFoundation

Curiosity turned into real-world learning as students stepped inside the JSW Green Steel Plant, Salav. They explored the entire steel-making process, sustainable practices, and key operational systems. Through initiatives like this, and with the support of JSW Foundation, students continue to gain experiences that make them #BetterEveryday. #JSWFoundation

When green spaces grow, everyday life changes with them. The Miyawaki Plantation initiative in Kulai is creating more than a plantation; it’s shaping a place where people can walk freely, rest in the shade, and feel closer to nature. Over time, it will support local biodiversity, improve the environment, and become a shared space the community can truly call its own.
