The U.S. government has to refund $166 billion in tariffs, PLUS interests. Trump said he would be paying Americans checks from tariffs and eventually even replace the income tax. So now not only are you not getting DOGE checks after he cancelled DOGE, you’re not getting tariff checks and paying the interests back on tariffs collected. And you are also paying $2 billion a day for Trump and Netanyahu’s war in Iran. And you are paying on avg $4 per gallon gas and inflation is rising again. The lack of humility and understanding the struggle of regular Americans is astounding to me. Trump and his lackeys demand loyalty and name call and bully yet Americans struggle more and more.

In September 2001, Abbotsford Police Constable John Goyer and his partner responded to a call for service that escalated into a physical struggle while attempting to take a suspect into custody. In the months and years that followed, Cst. Goyer’s health declined, and he was later diagnosed with ALS, determined to be directly related to the incident and his service as a police officer. Cst. Goyer endured a long and courageous battle with ALS. Throughout his illness, he remained positive, determined, and resilient, facing each challenge with strength and grace. As a police officer, he served the community with distinction, professionalism, and quiet dignity. Twenty years ago today, on April 19th, 2006, Constable John Goyer passed away peacefully at MSA Hospital in Abbotsford, surrounded by family and friends. Today, on the 20th anniversary of his passing, we remember and honour John for his service, sacrifice, and legacy.

On April 16 at approximately 9:44 p.m., Abbotsford Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle fire in a parking lot in the 2700 block of Gladwin Road. Upon arrival, officers determined that a man had intentionally attempted to set a vehicle on fire. While officers were actively investigating that incident, at approximately 10:17 p.m., AbbyPD was notified of a second vehicle fire in the 32800 block of South Fraser Way. That vehicle sustained significant damage. Through timely communication and coordinated patrol efforts, multiple frontline officers quickly canvassed the area, identified, and located a suspect nearby. As a result of the swift response and teamwork by patrol officers, 52-year-old Matthew Waldie was arrested and has since been charged with two counts of arson. He remains in custody. #CallsFromTheFrontline

At this time in history, mankind has more cameras recording everything that’s happening all over the world yet people are kept in the dark, not shown actual war footage and the truth of what is really happening in Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza. War used to be broadcasted on the nightly news now you are only told by the talking heads what is happening and what you are supposed to think about it. Most of the videos we see are from people’s cell phone videos that they managed to post on the internet somehow and even then many times it gets censored. And many of the war journalists that tried to cover the atrocities in Gaza were killed by the IDF so that the world wouldn’t know the horrors. Yesterday, Trump announced at a campaign event in Arizona that he ended more wars, claiming Israel would stop bombing Lebanon yet soon after he bragged, Israel started bombing Lebanon again. Trump also claimed the Strait of Hormuz is open and China is happy as he looks forward to their meeting. Yet overnight, Iran closed the Strait and has fired on multiple ships. There is a giant gap between the President’s Truth Social post and speeches and actual real truth and this must be rectified. The most concerning part is actual events contradict the President and suggest that he has lost control over his war in Iran. Trump is not a peace president nor is he a Truth teller.

Our frontline officers continue to actively target excessive speeding—whether you notice them or not. This past Sunday afternoon, a member of our Traffic Enforcement Unit was conducting speed enforcement along Marshall Road near Ross Road when a vehicle was clocked travelling 130 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. The outcome was predictable: the vehicle was impounded and the 59‑year‑old driver received an excessive speeding ticket. So far this year, AbbyPD officers have removed 94 excessive speeders from our roads. Drive smart—because road safety isn’t optional. #RoadSafetyMatters
