Utah has always been a place where innovation takes flight. A little over five years ago, I shared a vision of air taxis flying in our skies and now that vision is closer than ever. I’m proud our state has been selected to help lead the federal Advanced Air Mobility pilot program testing electric aircraft that could reshape the future transportation. With our strong aerospace sector, innovative research institutions and diverse landscape for real-world testing, Utah and our regional partners are well positioned to advance these technologies safely and effectively. This effort will help accelerate next-generation transportation technologies, including air taxis, positioning Utah to showcase the future of flight as we welcome the world for the 2034 Winter Olympics.

At the conclusion of the general session, all legislation undergoes review to ensure compliance with constitutional and statutory requirements. After careful review, I determined that H.B. 212 County Formation Amendments did not pass within the constitutionally required timeframe.

Every legislative session is an opportunity to leave Utah a little better than we found it. This year we worked to strengthen the foundations that make our state such a special place to live. The work we do is about making sure that when Utah’s children grow up and start families of their own, they inherit a state that is strong, prosperous and full of opportunity. #utpol

This session, the Legislature stayed focused on what matters most: families. We worked to keep more money in parents’ pockets through tax relief, child tax credits and lower costs at the gas pump. At the same time, we made long-term investments in education and energy so Utah continues to lead the nation in opportunity and innovation. When I think about the work we did this year, I think about the kids who will grow up in Utah over the next 20 or 30 years. Our goal is simple: leave our children and grandchildren a state that remains brimming with opportunity. #utpol

Utah is leading the nation in protecting children’s mental health and well-being. By limiting addictive social media algorithms, creating bell-to-bell cell phone–free schools and expanding opportunities for childhood independence, Utah is taking bold steps to protect kids online while restoring their freedom to play, explore and grow up in the real world. Research on Capitol Hill Day is always a highlight, especially seeing students from my district share the groundbreaking work they’re doing across our state. It was a pleasure to meet Rosemay Yahne from Layton, who was named the College of Engineering Undergraduate Researcher of the Year for 2026. Research like Rosemay’s is exactly what helps propel our communities forward and strengthen Utah’s economy. #utpol

During our work this week, we lowered costs at the pump by 15%, increased protections for religious freedom and advanced policies that keep opportunity within reach for all Utahns. That’s a week worth celebrating! #utpol

For the sixth straight year, we are cutting taxes, helping Utah families keep more of what they earn, both in their paychecks and at the pump. Starting July 1, the gas tax dropping 15%. At the same time, we are making strategic investments in our state’s future. We’re expanding our fuel supply, securing affordable and reliable energy, and strengthening long-term water security through regional and federal partnerships. That’s how we keep our economy strong and ensure Utah remains the best place to live, work and raise a family. #utpol
