The cool thing about being Catholic in Chicago is that this is my neighborhood church. This is the church I can walk 15 minutes and experience the most beautiful mass.

@Empty_America The actual trade off for most (at least in the midwest) isn't the RV, but the deer blind.

Tent camping is now *intensely* blue-coded. You will still see tent campers within driving range of large liberal cities, or at hiking type destinations. But Red Americans almost exclusively use RVs.

one issue with Milwaukee Cream City brick is that it's very porus compared to a lot of other types of brick, It requires higher maintenance Even in a large rainstorm it's very visible!

Chinese infrastructure photos are wild because they seem so advanced, except then you're reminded that China has a GDP per capita similar to Mexico. Impressive 30+ year gains, but what this tells us is that infrastructure is actually kinda easy to do!

A religious American government is an anti-Catholic government. Just because they go after the Muslims first, doesn't mean they don't wish to push our faith the margins as well.

My constituents organized against the Metropolitan Park casino. I voted with them. I also receive a small share of the modest profits generated by a gaming facility on the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Nation, of which I'm an enrolled citizen. Not sure what the story is here.

@claireforny Your vote is clearly a conflict of interest which you shouldve recused yourself from. You didn’t vote based on what your constituents wanted you voted to keep your monopoly and had your allies organize to support you voting to eliminate competition

@Eric_Erins What public policy in Chicago isn’t half-baked, we’re like the poster child for municipal governance malpractice.

One problem with Chicago's block builder program is where there are lots that clearly used to hold a row house. However you can't replace said row house. You can only buy it if you own one of the adjacent properties for use as a side yard. Make it make sense!
