Peter Esaiasson and I spent a lot of time on this newly published paper. It was NOT one of those papers that wrote itself. (Is there ever?) We make two bigger points.

New study out in Political Psychology. A big thanks to all who helped us! The long title explains what the paper is about. More details here: doi.org/10.1111/pops.1…

On Friday, I finally defended my PhD on the identities and emotions of the Simpsons. Had a great discussion with @mrooduijn, an expert in this field!! Big thanks to my advisors *Maria Solevid* and @JacobSohlberg and everyone else involved. Friday and this PhD was so much fun!

@Swallman4 @mewes_jan Yes, that could obviously be one of the negative consequences. To give voice to residents of European banlieues is one of the main goals. It is just such an absurd situation.

@mewes_jan Great that they got the decision overturned. Decisions like these mean that you take away agency and voice from groups based on where they live? @JacobSohlberg

Feeling nostalgic about something? It's not warm and fuzzy childhood memories that make you vote for the radical right. Longing for a past, golden era of society does, however.
EJPR journal@EJPRjournal

🆕 Those were the what? 🥧 Peter Luca Versteegen @goteborgsuni uses panel data from 🇳🇱 to explore if #nostalgia makes people evaluate society's present as worse than its past & thus more likely to vote for the #radicalright? 👉 bit.ly/3HljScz #OA #PRR #Populism

@SaskiaBrech Fulbright alumni here. The scholarship is great in many ways, but it sure made staying in the US almost impossible. After being denied an exception to the 2-year rule, my American wife and I moved to Sweden. Happy now, but lots of hardship could’ve been avoided.
