@jglypt I did not get a notification. I just went to my app drawer and I saw the new Siri logo, and I opened it and it was the new Siri.

Questions I have for the new Siri waitlist: - once you’re off it, do you get notified? or should I just keep checking - if you get the new Siri on one device, do you get it on all of them, or do you have to join the waitlist on each device?

@stealthgpt @bilawalsidhu Yeah I watched my dad get to fight that… was… interesting. Pretty much the only reason I add navigation to a route is possible traffic. I’ve done coast to coast no maps. Honestly relaxing

holy crap! apple just beat google to the punch -- 3d gaussian splatting is coming to apple maps. these 3d scenes are made from oblique aerial imagery. but unlike blobby photogrammetry -- no more broccoli trees, no more melted powerlines -- ground level detail that actually holds up. here's hoping google maps/earth follows suite soon -- they have a significantly larger corpus of sensor data to work with. time to splat the world!

@Saeren_ Yeah I saw that too was wondering about it… tried toggling Siri off and restarting the phone, didn’t seem to help move things alone. Battery usage really isn’t telling anything these days. Kinda odd

@Besty_boy23 All three of my devices are indexing 1. iPad Air m2 1 tb 360 gbs used 2. 17 pm 1 tb 680 gbs used 3. 16 pro 512 200 gb used I’m assuming it’s slower based on how much stuff you have

@stealthgpt @bilawalsidhu Though likely a fringe case at 25 (navigating by phone since 17) I’ve driven coast to coast about seven times (Washington to Pennsylvania) without Apple Maps ever failing, luckily, I got to miss its early issues.

@appletalisman @izspadez Aside from walking to my car, walking to meetings, and walking from my car to my house it’s been plugged in. Tbf I’m rocking a 1TB 17 pm with over 700 gigs used so I assume that’s causing delays 🤷‍♂️
