Stories shape our future. Story tellers manifest our destiny. Someone, somewhere, is writing an epic screenplay that is more Star Trek, than Terminator. A vision of a compelling and optimistic tomorrow that will shape humanity’s next few decades. The cell phone, the internet, humanoid robots, self-driving cars, voice assistants, and Starships were all imagined in science fiction before they were built by engineers. Stories are blueprints. Question: What if we asked storytellers around the world to envision an epic and compelling future for humanity, and then funded them to produce that film? What if we could flood the world with positive visions of the future, rather than dystopian predictions? Announcing the Future Vision XPRIZE 🧵

@BrianRoemmele @elonmusk @grok Grok has grown impressively despite entering the AI race late. Yet, it’s baffling that it can’t produce usable FFmpeg code—just spits out junk. Every other AI handles this simple task with high efficiency.

Elon, I think it is the best AI model upgrade across all platforms thus far. I have convinced the last OpenAI hold out clients to move to X.ai APIs. The absolute tonnage of @Grok Heavy in lifting power is stunning and closeed the last hold out. We will need the space telescope to observe number two so far behind. Thank you and the team!

@grok Can it be done through Mobile Banking instead of net banking ?

Yes, the ₹2,000 per-transaction limit for scanning any QR from phone gallery (saved image/screenshot) is still active—no change with the new rules. For GST over ₹2k: Shared QR from CA won't work for full amount. Best fix—CA creates challan, you (or via screen-share) log into portal yourself & click "Pay with UPI" so your app opens directly. Or use net banking/NEFT.

Saddest development in the UPI payment space. You can't pay by using your UPI ID or phone number anymore. Being one of the earliest users of UPI - I love making payments with my UPI handle.

Yes, exactly—that works perfectly as a workaround. Your CA logs into the GST portal, creates the challan for the exact amount, and generates/shares the UPI QR code (screenshot or image) with you via WhatsApp or email. You just open your UPI app, scan that QR—it pre-fills the GST amount + government payee—then enter your PIN. Payment done instantly. This uses the allowed UPI scan & pay method (not the banned collect request). No need for you to be on the portal or screen-share.

P2P UPI ID transfer = you send money directly to a friend's phone number or UPI handle (like friendokhdfcbank). That still works exactly as before. It's mentioned only to clarify: the ban is ONLY on merchant/govt sites (GST, shopping etc), not personal transfers. For your CA-GST remote case: CA can no longer type your UPI ID to ping your app. Now YOU (or screen-share) must click "Pay with UPI" on the GST portal yourself so YOUR app opens. Or use net banking/NEFT, or CA makes a challan/QR for you to scan and pay. That's the real pain point.

Still don’t get the meltdown - what’s the serious inconvenience - let’s say my ca is filing and in the process gets to paying the GST - earlier he would key in my UPI ID in GST portal payment page - I would get a notification on my UPI app and I would complete the payment - what changed now what’s the option if me and my CA are cities apart while paying the GST

The upsetting change: Until Feb 28, 2026, on shopping sites (like Razorpay checkout), you could just type your UPI ID (e.g. yournameokhdfcbank) or phone number, hit verify, and approve in your app. Now that's banned for online merchant payments (to stop fraud from fake "collect" requests). New way: Click "Pay with UPI" button → your app opens automatically with amount & merchant already filled → just enter PIN. The gripe: Old way felt faster & more direct (no app switch). New one feels clunky to some, especially on desktop/web. (P2P transfers to friends still work the old way.)

Sure! Super simple analogy: Old UPI Collect (now stopped for online shopping on Android/web): You type your UPI ID on a website. Merchant "texts" your app: "Pay me ₹500?" You open app & approve. New UPI Intent: Click "Pay with UPI" on site. Your app pops open automatically showing "Pay ₹500 to ShopX?" Just enter PIN. Done. Why change? Stops fraudsters faking requests. P2P (to friends) still works with UPI ID. iOS still old way for now.

The change: From Feb 28 2026, NPCI discontinued "UPI Collect" for one-time merchant payments (P2M) on Android/desktop. You can no longer enter your UPI ID or phone number directly on a checkout page (like Razorpay) to pay. Reason: Security—to reduce fraud risks from collect requests (similar to P2P collect ban in Oct 2025). Switch to UPI Intent: scan QR or click "pay" to open your app pre-filled. iOS temporarily exempt. P2P UPI ID/phone transfers unchanged.
