@RetroBayArea Very true. My father was the biggest 49er fan ever. He was also a blue collar carpenter that worked tirelessly to provide for his family. My love for the team comes from him. RIP Dad.

This is what 49ers fans used to look like in the 1980s. In the 1980s, NFL fans were mostly blue-collar guys in work clothes or simple sweatshirts. Today, nearly everyone wears jerseys, a shift the league deliberately engineered to monetize fandom. The NFL turned loyalty into a branded experience and created a uniformed, polished fan culture.

@KingRicochet Great stuff. I am half Mexican and have spent a lifetime convincing the world. Ha. As I grew older, I could appreciate it more. I get to experience both my cultures. I now love being mixed race.

I agree with her. As a mixed kid growing up in Kentucky in the early 90's I was a black kid to the white people and I was a white kid to the black people. But as I grew older I felt so much more acceptance and most all my friends were from the black community. So naturally thats what felt right for me. But it took me a while to understand and realize that being mixed is the best!

Home run calls might be the most fun thing for me on play-by-play. I am doing more work for University of the Pacific softball team this weekend. I love my job. #pacificproud @PacificTigers
