@henrywinter Trent's issue is that he can't decide if he's a defender or midfielder. Hes a better midfielder than defender, but all those ahead of him are better midfielders. And that leaves defending. For which he cannot do. So he's stuck in limbo really

Trent Alexander-Arnold plays right-back for Real Madrid. Started home and away against Manchester City. He won the Premier League and Champions League at right-back with Liverpool. He’s used to dealing with pressure. He’s taken a decisive tournament penalty. He’s played in the World Cup before. He has occasional defensive deficiencies but he brings a long-range passing skill that few possess. Are England that blessed at right-back that they don’t need Alexander-Arnold? That he isn’t amongst the best 30 outfield players available to Thomas Tuchel?

@FA_PGMOL can we get an explanation into the awful game management by your referee at the Leeds Sunderland last night. Why did they allow so much cheating. Why wasn't the penalty scorer given a second yellow for jumping into the crowd?

@premierleague @SunderlandAFC I think you mean cheater of the match. The whole team were cheating. One when I ref adds 10 minutes that's a reflection on the ref for not having a handle on it. The worst ref I've ever seen at Leeds and that's saying something

Luke O'Nien wore the captain's armband in @SunderlandAFC's win against Leeds. It was his first Premier League start AND he won Player of the Match 👏 He has been a key player at the club since they were in League One!

Kick It Out statement: It’s massively disappointing that some Leeds United fans booed when Manchester City’s players broke their fast during the first half of the match at Elland Road this evening. This was compounded by the fact that an explanation was displayed on a big screen inside the stadium. Pausing the game to allow Muslim players to break their fast during Ramadan has been an agreed protocol for several years now. It’s an important and visible part of making the game welcoming for Muslim players and communities. But as tonight’s reaction shows, football still has a long way to go in terms of education and acceptance.
