So the fact that Eddie Holmes documented the same wildlife trade at the same market five years earlier with no pandemic only sharpens the core question: out of all the wet markets in China, across all those years, why did a SARS-like CoV carrying an unprecedented FCS emerge specifically in the city housing WIV, and specifically one year after DEFUSE?
