@kraigbowers34 @RaphealDavis3 We were in a hotel with a volleyball tournament. We paid a lot 💵 for one night…Seriously asked my husband how families could afford whole weekend after weekend. . Retired now, kids grown but Saturday at home, making Sundays about church was the best decision for our family.

After my weekend in St. Louis, I’m convinced AAU sports is primarily driven as an excuse for suburban parents to have drinking buddies every weekend for however long a season lasts. Lots of them at our hotel this weekend. To @RaphealDavis3’s point about youth sports being priced out of budget to many, this group was joking about one parent out of the entire group having a public school child. I’m worried the opportunity to get training and quality recruitment opportunities is going to be priced out of many family budgets.
