The final evening of comrade Hellen Nakimuli at the NUP headquarters today. Many thanks to all leaders, comrades and friends who have stood with the family in this unimaginable difficult journey. The burial of our comrade shall be held in Luweero tomorrow.

Today, we celebrate a life that has refused to bow to dictatorship. A man who chose conviction over comfort. That he sits, languishing in jail on his 70th birthday, is yet another reminder of how much he has had to sacrifice for the sake of our country and its people. Sending out revolutionary birthday greetings to Dr. Kizza Besigye Kifefe. May his sacrifice never go in vain. May he live long enough to see the kind of Uganda he has wholeheartedly fought for.

She’s been vocal and enthusiastic about the NEW UGANDA that we all envision. She has been highly intolerant to corruption and took no prisoners to those that indulged in deforestation. To the people of Kalangala, you have lost a servant. To the family, you have lost a daughter, a sister and a mother and to everyone out there, we have lost a visionary leader. Rest in Peace Hon. Nakimuli. May your legacy shine on bright.
