Based off of Winter, and so far this Spring, we are in big trouble this Summer. If this pattern doesn’t change real soon it will no doubt be the final nail in many farmers coffins.

Coming soon to Arkansas…..Dust bowl part 2, 2026 style. What caused the 1st dust bowl? Severe drought, Poor farming practices (plowing up natural grasses that held the soil in place, High winds that picked up the loose, dry soil. Here we are again.

This is the part where the model watching is about done and we start watching it unfold….I call this the fun part. We are all going to learn a lot from this system.

GFS, EURO and Canadian modeled snow amounts through this weekend.
These are high end totals, even if they are far fetched, the signal is there for a significant snow across the north half of the state.
We’ve forecasted 10-14 inches across a large chunk of northern counties.
If everything goes to plan, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone saw 15-18 inches.

Assuming column stays completely below freezing I would not expect heavy wet snow during this event. Interesting snow ball test incoming.

Snow ratios could actually be closer to 10-1 in north Arkansas during the peak of our snow event. This will be a heavy water loaded snow. Potential exists for power outages where accumulation over a foot happens. #arwx

@JasonBHampton GFS here, but take the general idea. Mid levels warm through the even lowering the ratio. By Sat PM could be 10:1 even with surface temp 10-15. Insane yes, but not impossible
