@sam_aye_ahm “Here is a small fact: You are going to die. I am in all truthfulness attempting to be cheerful about this whole topic, though most people find themselves hindered in believing me, no matter my protestations.” -The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Seems to me that if you’re fighting for rights/freedoms than you should, at the very least, understand your country’s Constitution.
First Amendment? That’s 🇺🇸.
Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom? That would be 🇨🇦
@Brent__Galloway There may be a lot highlight, but the basics of Ed. remain in the forefront of my mind; relevancy to the STUDENTS, unbiased delivery (meaning unbiased outcomes), and balance of driven content (PBL, T-led, choice). I’m unsure as to how standardized testing fits in any of this.
My #EDES440 pre-service teachers are amazing. Recently we explored the Curriculum Advisory Panel recommendations from Dec., 2019 where it is stated " the best curriculum can fail if not properly implemented". That got us wondering about plans for this Fall. Thoughts?

Alberta needs to get its shit together. Masks. Social distancing. QUARANTINES FOR COVID INFECTIONS AND GOD DAMN CONTACT TRACING. We need to know what’s going on. Kids are going back to school and parents are beyond concerned. #headoutofassplease
@DrJCarrington I like this… perhaps before repair comes recognition. Recognition of what all those hard things mean, recognition of the role each of us has in these hard things, recognition that what we bring to the table is enough. I recognize that my role as a T is to strive to repair.
The heart of teaching is relationships. It’s showing up with your whole heart. It’s walking them—and yourself—through the hardest conversations about trauma, loss, grief, racism, or violence and maybe most importantly: repair.
Good morning! Enjoy the sunshine! Wear sunscreen, drink your water, and most of all… remember that you make someone’s world spin. Note to self: never play poker with these shades 🤣 #BeYourself#staypositive
There are currently 793 schools in Alberta on either alert or outbreak status (33%). In total, there are 6,267 COVID-19 cases tied to schools. #COVID19AB
699 out of 2433 Cases yesterday were kids.
It's not just K-6 schools that are open; in non-hotspot areas, or small towns with less than 250 cases, schools from K-12 are open.
Almost 35,000 kids ages 5-19 have been infected. Hinshaw nor Kenney have not said a word. #ableg
