First paper from my student Daria Frolova's PhD now on biorxiv: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… The key question: plasmids change structurally ~as fast as they mutate, so how can we decide whether 2 plasmids are "the same plasmid" for epi purposes? 1/n

OMG this week in microbiology (TWIM) podcast 303 (microbe.tv/twim/) talks about our CRyPTIC project to sequence ~12,000 M. tuberculosis isolates from 23 countries and obtain quantitative resistance phenotypes for 13 drugs. (Paper here: journals.plos.org/plosbiology/ar… ).
