If that’s the situation behind the scenes, then it makes a lot more sense why tensions were boiling over. Creative frustration + contract uncertainty is usually a bad mix in wrestling companies. Never a great sign when talent feels like nothing is improving even after a major TV move.

Steven Maclin had been very outspoken directly and publicly about his frustrations with the company's creative direction dating back to last year. He was among a number of talent that didn't believe it had improved since the move to AMC. The pay scale was also something that has been discussed internally as an issue, as the majority of TNA talent are not on full-time salaried deals.
