I called @PortlandPolice non-emergency at 𝟔:𝟒𝟓 PM requesting assistance. When no one responded, I called 𝟗𝟏𝟏 twice—at 𝟕:𝟐𝟓 PM and again at 𝟕:𝟓𝟖 PM.
𝘕𝘰 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴.
It wasn’t until 𝟖:𝟐𝟐 PM that I was finally contacted—via text—by an officer who was professional and respectful, asking me to leave the area and meet him and other officers two blocks away from the scene.
𝗕𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: it took nearly two hours for law enforcement to make contact and take a report.
That kind of response time is unacceptable! 🤦🏻♂️

🚨 Mecklenburg County, NC: Honduran national Cristian Yanil Lobo-Hernandez is accused of raping and impregnating a 13-year-old girl last year who gave birth to a baby boy in February.
He has an immigration detainer hold with pending removal proceedings.
Lobo-Hernandez was arrested last week and is charged with Statutory Rape and Indecent Liberties with a child.

In the spring of 2020, Oregon legislators were in an emergency session. It was an emergency that they themselves created.
They shuttered businesses, killed livelihoods and drove hundreds of thousands of workers into the unemployment lines—and now, while ordinary Oregonians scrambled to survive, a coalition of immigration activist groups sat ready and waiting with a proposal years in the making.
They hadn't been caught off guard by the crisis. They had been waiting for one.
They made a sympathetic pitch, in light of the austere conditions of the lockdowns: “Undocumented” immigrants had been locked out of any pandemic relief. No stimulus checks. No unemployment insurance. They were “essential” workers—farmworkers, food processors, meatpackers—and they were suffering.
On April 23, 2020, Oregon’s Legislature appropriated $10 million of state funds to launch the Oregon Worker Relief Fund. By June, another $20 million of state taxpayer funds followed. Within a year, over $100 million in combined state, federal, and private money—every dollar of it distributed right here in Oregon—flowed through a network of more than 100 activist nonprofits.
But that’s not the story. The story is what they laid the groundwork for.
