Anyone that wants to dictate another person's happiness, is an extremist. For a long time, I thought everyone who had an opinion about my life was trying to help me. They told me what decisions to make, what dreams to chase, what choices were “right” for me, and even what should make me happy. I listened because I respected them. But along the way, I realized something important, my life cannot be lived by someone else’s rules. Advice is a gift, but control is a cage. Anyone who wants to dictate my happiness, silence my choices, or decide my path for me is not protecting me, they are trying to take ownership of a life that belongs to me. I appreciate people who care, but I will always choose to live a life that brings me peace, growth, and genuine happiness. Because at the end of the day, my happiness is my responsibility, and my choice.
