This is a sad episode, with the funeral of baby Connor. Good to see our favourite vicar again though @Jimvic1 #ClassicCorrie

@CharlieBunyan @CurzonAshton That's obviously the Gordon Taylor who became chairman of the PFA, and made squillions.
English

#AshtonunderLyne. Gordon played for Hurst (Curzon Road) Wesleyans (or was it Assheton Amateurs?) in the Mottram Deanery League. The clubs merged in 1963 to form Curzon Amateurs - @CurzonAshton

@CharlieBunyan Mind you, that looked too big to be at Blackpool, looks like O.T.
English

@CharlieBunyan You might laugh, but the away games I went to in my first season were...... Blackburn, Burnley and Blackpool, so it's possible.
English

@heatherjancos Yes Heather, we were all gutted as well. There was talk of internal politics, and we never did get a satisfactory explanation. x
English

@Jimvic1 I was gutted when itv didn’t commission for a third series, it was one of my favourite ever programmes. I’ve refused to watch repeats because it stopped so abruptly. I SO wanted Bob to be dead!

I honestly believe that Manchester has one of the world’s most underrated non-league scenes

@CharlieBunyan Thanks Mike, that's wonderful. Well deserved and so right. Something to cheer me up on a dull Sunday afternoon. Well done Mark.

@carl_thompson70 Mine was in 1957. "What do you want to be lad"....."I want to be a journalist sir"... "No you don't, get down to the docks, ask for Captain Moore, they need a Shipping Clerk". Five years later, I got out.

@paulburton73 @BritishComedy I worked for Mike and Bernie Winters at the end of the 1960s. Bob was in one of their shows, they revered him as a comic actor. Nice fellow as well.
English

@BritishComedy Excellent article. Includes a nice photo of Bob with the late, great Dennis Kirkland, who I got to know, too.

@Glynhowarth You would be very welcome Glyn, it would be lovely to meet you.
English

@Jimvic1 It's a long way from me Jim but I have never been to Eastbourne so I might just come.
English

@CharlieBunyan I've known Mark Llewellin for many years Mike, in fact he gave me one of my first ever bookings as a speaker. Would love to do it one day.
English

@Jimvic1 Night Jim! Hope it's a brilliant night for a great cause. 🌙
