Poilievre is talking about how working class people have been disproportionately hurt by bad (often semi-socialist!) public policy - especially but not limited to runaway spending that fuelled inflation which hurts low income people the most.
Not to mention luxury-belief-style policies which elites can pursue with impunity but which hurt working class people ie net zero, DEI, soft on crime, “harm reduction”, NIMBYIsm etc.

I really wish Poilievre would stop this class struggle rhetoric. He sounds like a Socialist. Replace « elites » with « bourgeoisie » and it could have come directly from Karl Marx. It certainly doesn’t sound like it comes from a conservative. Is he trying to pick up NDP votes?

Brian Mulroney's memoir published in 2007 is one of the better prime ministerial memoirs in Canadian history. More than 900 pages, highly detailed, very reflective and definitely worth a read. Mulroney would have turned 87 today.
