The simple fact that is undeniable, is that Russia attacked and invaded Ukraine. Everything else is a byproduct of that. I'm going to stop responding to idiots who keep trying to justify what's happening in Ukraine or inside of the war right now. Idiots are waste of time.

One of the most favorable scenarios for Russia would be a prolonged, low-intensity war in the Middle East, steadily draining U.S. air defense and other resources, while continued instability in Hormuz keeps oil prices high enough to support Russia’s struggling economy

Two things can be true at once: U.S. forces are performing brilliantly at the operational and tactical levels while U.S. political leaders are demonstrating remarkable incompetence and incoherence at the political and strategic levels. The latter may undo the gains of the former.

This is what "Russian Liberation" looks like. If Russia never came to Ukraine in 2014 and then again 2022, this Woman and Child would had been living happily in their home, with power, water, and all the comforts of being able to travel freely to the EU on vacation. But Putin couldn't have that, it was "historically russian territory" and if it can't be part of Russia again, it can be destroyed. Like a jealous Russian ex-husband who burns down your house because you separated and started dating a guy from the Europe who promised you a better life.
Victoria@victoriaslog

A woman with a little kid recorded a video saying that she and her child had been sitting without power for days, and that the Russians had even cut the internet cables to disconnect people from any means of information and communication. Luckily, Ukraine tries to fix things quickly, even near the front. On the very next day, the same woman recorded a video showing that Russians had destroyed her home. It had collapsed. That family survived only because they were visiting friends in a neighboring building. 📍Kramatorsk, Donetsk region

@altoona1776 @Arsnaq Many have. But first they are inundated with Russian propaganda to trick them into thinking it's Ukraine's fault and that Russia is somehow there to liberate them. The ones who revolt often are tortured and killed. Slave armies have existed for centuries, Russia repeats it.

@Arsnaq @JohnnyFDK And one armed, those forcibly recruited Ukrainians can start killing Russians. They are going to die anyway in a suicide assault. So might as well trying to kill Russians.

I spoke with a Russian girl from Moscow here in Thailand, she confirmed that none of her friends have had mobile internet in Moscow for the past 2 weeks. They're using a VPN to get around the telegram/instagram ban, but are afraid that Putin will shut down the VPNs. She and everyone she knows is holding out, refusing to install MAX (the government spy messenger). But she knows that one day they may have no other choice. Yet she's going back to Moscow anyways, and although she dislikes Putin, she claims to be "apolitical" and does nothing about it. This is Russia in a nutshell. A country full of people who you can slowly boil like a frog. Will the people revolt before they become China or even North Korea? Think it's impossible? It would only take 10% of Moscow residents to have 1 million protestors in red square, overtaking the Kremlin. Ukrainians did it in 2014, despite being arrested, shot, and beaten by Yanukovych's masked forces. Will Russians rise up and do the same? I doubt it. These are going to be an interesting next couple of months in Russia, as I've said before, Russians don't care about the ethic minority and poor living in the provinces and 2nd and 3rd tier cities. Nothing will happen until the lives of Muscovites are affected. Now it's happening. Let's see what happens because of it.

The only ones being humiliated are the Chechens themselves. There are no Ukrainians fighting on the russian side. They are a tiny minority and usually either Russians who were born or immigrated to uKraine and the ones who were forcibly conscripted as their homes were occupied in East Ukraine.

@JohnnyFDK @altoona1776 This is, of course, not true. Despite being forced to work due to the occupation and repression, the Chechens behave brazenly and humiliate Russian soldiers at the first opportunity. Unlike the Ukrainians fighting on Russia's side, there is ample evidence of this.

US and UK tourists are varied, there is a huge difference between the upper class and the lower class. But in general, they are welcomed as they are mostly very friendly...even though sometimes they come across as annoying so. Also they spend money and Americans tip generously.

I’ve been to 50+ countries. No one hates Canadian, Mexican, Italian, Polish, Dutch, Scandinavian, Korean, Taiwanese or Japanese travelers. Yet tourists from Israel, Russia and Mainland China are universally hated everywhere. Why is that? Is it justified based upon their behavior?

Americans are mostly welcome everywhere in the world, as you have a mix of them. Yes some are loud and obnoxious, but they are also generous tippers, spend money, and most are very friendly, even if it's sometimes annoying over the top. So no, American tourists are not universally hated.

Wow congrats to Russia for having the most disabled athletes in the world. After over a million causalities in the war they started invading Ukraine, it turns out many of those who are now permanently disabled, lost limbs, or are otherwise made invalid are completing in the Paralympics. This is the state of russia.

@altoona1776 They were, but the new generation under the Kadyrov klan is addicted to money, fancy cars and showing off on Tik-Tok. I would be ashamed to be of Chechen ancestry if I was related to them.

Chechnya used to be a great warrior and honor culture. They had a reputation for resisting outside empires and strong codes of honor. They Ramzan Kadyrov sold out to Vladimir Putin. This is what they are known for today. I would be ashamed to be Chechen and I believe their ancestors would be ashamed to see their people living as greedy, money hungry, lapdogs to Russia today.

@BohuslavskaKate I cannot wait for Viktor Orbán to be democratically voted out of office next month. Hungary and the EU has had to deal with this Russian bootlicking toad for 15 years too long. He has stolen millions to enrich his family and close friends. Orban needs to be jailed.

HOST: "Do you not think that Putin is the aggressor? He chose to cross the border, he's committing war crimes. Is there not a moral duty, to support Ukrainians as the victims in this particular conflict?" Viktor Orbán: "No, I don't think so." An ugly toad proceeds to spew russian propaganda bullshit, which essentially comes down to: Ukrainian children deserve to be bombed in their beds because 'NATO bad'. I'm really looking forward to the Hungarian people voting him out next month.

This is like a bomb in Russia. Ilya Remeslo, a long-time Russian patriot, professional informer, and lawyer, suddenly launched a direct attack on Putin: Vladimir Putin is not a legitimate president. Vladimir Putin should resign and be tried as a war criminal and thief. Five reasons why I stopped supporting Vladimir Putin. Someone had to say it. 1. The war in Ukraine. The war, which began as a "police operation," has already claimed 1-2 million lives. I supported the annexation of Crimea in 2014 precisely because it was bloodless. We all thought back then that Putin was the unifier of the Russian lands. And here we are now—bloody attacks, the deception of contract workers, and much more, which any SVO participant will confirm. An absolutely hopeless war, enormous losses, it could last another 5-10 years—are you ready for that? No one is calling for war against Russia. But the war is currently being waged solely because of Putin's complexes; we ordinary citizens don't benefit from it, we only lose. And a few more points: 2. Enormous damage to the Russian economy and the well-being of its citizens. 3. Suppression of internet and media freedom. 4. Putin's term in office. 5. Putin doesn't respect his voters and refuses to listen to them. Conclusion: Vladimir Putin is not a legitimate president. Vladimir Putin should resign and be tried as a war criminal and thief.
