This is only the 6th time in #Bitcoin's history.. where its weekly RSI has dropped to 36 Each previous time was because of something severe or critical happening in the market 🟠 Sep 2014 - Followed the collapse of Mt. Gox, which involved the theft of over 500k #BTC Also heavy pressures from China.. the first of many 🟠 Jan 2015 - This one was less severe but involved a major security breach at #Bitstamp, which was a large Bitcoin exchange back in those days They were forced to suspend operations and freeze user accounts This exacerbated the bear period from 2014 following the Mt. Gox hack 🟠 Dec 2018 - This was one of the lowest points from the "crypto winter" following that huge 2017 bull run We had ICOs advertising bans on social media platforms.. South Korea trading bans.. Coincheck hacked for $530m All this.. and more, resulted in price collapsing 50% in a month to end the 2018 bear market 🟠 Mar 2020 - This one is pretty obvious.. Covid Was the week WHO declared a global pandemic and the world collectively panicked #crypto was briefly annihilated and #Bitcoin halved in price over the week or two Also saw the first U.S stock market circuit breaker being triggered.. so yeah, everything went to shit for a short period 🟠 May 2022 - Terra LUNA, one of the largest crypto's in the space completely collapsed This kicked off a contagion event which lead to the insolvencies of Three Arrows Capital, Voyager, Celsius and eventually the implosion of FTX There was also rampant inflation and the small matter of Russia invading Ukraine.. which naturally, only increased geopolitical tensions 🟠 As you can see.. All previous times the RSI hit such a level on the weekly.. it was due to something that was, in hindsight, a pretty big deal The question is.. why are we here again, now? This can't be because a bunch of OG whales decided to sell imo.. there are plenty large buyers willing to happily take the #Bitcoin off their hands 🟠 My guess is it has to do with October 10th We saw the largest single day liquidation event in #crypto history $19 billion in leveraged positions were completely wiped out.. with the number rumoured to be much higher #Binance saw major depegging issues across stablecoins which caused temporary pricing anomolies.. Resulting in a cascading effect across exchanges.. and triggering probably the ugliest day I've ever seen in this space I think this is only clear in hindsight.. But it looks like there is some serious contagion taking place with #crypto market makers being hit harder than anyone realised When we hit these RSI levels, history shows something big and bad happened.. maybe this is the true cause of what we're currently seeing As for where we go from here.. I don’t have a real answer To be completely honest.. I didn't think we would lose the 50 weekly MA, but we did I thought we would bounce there and head higher for the next leg.. I still believe once this unwind plays out, we will.. and talk of a prolonged bear market is mostly fear mongering All I know is, judging by the previous 5 times #Bitcoin hit 36 on the Relative Strength Index.. We're a lot closer to a bottom than we are a top 🍻

Hoping for a final leg up for BTC in the new year and then alts finally get their moment. Technically BTC.D has been in a downtrend since July but most alts have not been feeling the benefits. The 'edge case' for alts was always early 2026, even if we hoped for sooner. If that fails, then we have to finally accept that it's a deeply abnormal cycle and all bets are off (And fwiw we are in deeply abnormal economic and geopolitical circumstances so this can't be ruled out)
