Every HS athlete would be a lot better as an athlete and in their sport(s), if they all took at least 2x months a year to only play their sport 2x wk at most and got in the weight room 3-4x wk over 4-8 wks to build up as much strength, speed, power aka a true mini off-season. Especially for 1-2 sport athletes.
HS Kids are never in a true off-season.
HS coaches. Parents. Club directors. KIDS! need to see that this is much better model for long term health and success as an athlete.
