The beautiful Ava Gardner (dubbed by Annette Warren) performs “Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man” in the 1951 adaptation of “Show Boat”. Her beautiful dress was designed by Walter Plunkett. After some unfavorable sneak previews using her real voice in her songs, it was decided Gardner’s singing voice would be dubbed by Warren. However Gardner’s vocals were included on the soundtrack album for the movie, and in an autobiography written not long before her death, Gardner reported she was still receiving royalties from the release.

Love this. It links Captain Jack Sparrow right back to Johnny Depp in the best way. The fact that he hand-crafted these bottles makes it even cooler — you can feel the care and the soul he put into it. Such a cool tribute.
