@PgrResearcher Entered my second year, but starting to be a bit anxious about the prospects of finding a job afterwards

The first job I ever got right after my PhD was a temporary contract, six months after, while doing my documentation, I got a permanent offer and I took it.  Doing a PhD has a lot of perks and one of them is chances of getting a job quickly is higher. What's your thought on the PhD path? If you're considering a PhD, what excites you the most, if you're already on the path, what's your experience been?

People often talk about how stressful a PhD is. And yes, it is. But today I want to remind myself what my PhD gave me. I grew up in Jharkhand as the daughter of a tailor and uneducated parents. In my family, I am the first person to pursue a PhD and to come to the United States.

@LeboSpeaks Unemployment ga se reality mo Botswana? Are the statics over exaggerated? Perhaps only reason why Batswana youth have not been crying like this or demonstrating they have been systematically forced to. Tota unemployment should NEVER be dismissed at all.
