@inhuman Dragonball is primed to go higher, and there are still quite a lot of players, but the the anime now off hiatus, Moro finally being animated with the best of the best animators, I think steady growth in DBS for the next few years, already stacking high end Trophy cards

Rarely post investment bro stuff because I DO NOT SELL, but firmly believe One Piece will have a second massive surge this year The TCG is seeing unprecedented player growth, IRL events, brand sponsored events I've never seen before Feels like the first truly adopted TCG

A major catalyst for Dragon Ball Fusion World gaining popularity will be Bandai phasing out the separate Masters TCG entirely. Bandai is already doing this softly, but it will happen more overtly soon. The reality is that people who have collected Masters cards are being left holding a bag that newcomers to Dragon Ball TCG (or Bandai TCGs more generally) aren’t particularly interested in. They want the newer Fusion World which is obviously Bandai’s primary focus going forward. There will be capitulation by those who collected Masters cards, and Bandai will eventually stop making new Masters sets. Then the runway will be clear so that only ONE Dragon Ball TCG matters: Fusion World. No more confusion or unnecessary internal competition. Imagine all of this coalescing around the time that the new Dragon Ball anime releases next year for the first time since 2018.
Golden@rarefinds

My strategy for investing in Dragon Ball TCG cards: Only buy cards and sealed boxes from Fusion World (FW) series, skip the separate Masters series entirely. Bandai created FW in 2024 to become the flagship DB series and simplify the game. Masters is no longer Bandai’s focus, so skip it. From my understanding the game is more fun to play with FW’s more streamlined rules. Only buy cards in English if you are investing, skip Japanese. If you are buying cards on eBay, only buy cards with “authenticity guaranteed” status. Important because there will be an increasing number of fakes as FW cards rise in value. Bandai, which also makes the One Piece TCG cards, is utilizing many of the same rarity terminology for DB cards so if you already understand how One Piece card rarity works it’s easy to understand DB FW. One exception is that for the Manga Booster sets in DB the top chase cards have a rarity known as “Secret Rare Super Alt Art” (look for two stars in bottom right hand corner of card to indicate this status). To pull one of these top chase cards in the Manga Booster series, on average there is only one in five CASES (and each case has 12 boxes). Bandai is also making, just like One Piece, yearly anniversary sets to celebrate FW. In short, Bandai is taking what has worked successfully with the modern One Piece TCG and is now applying it to FW. The key existing sets to buy in FW, probably in terms of importance are: Awakened Pulse, FB01 (the first publicly released FW set): Manga Booster 1, SB01; Manga Booster 2, SB02; and the Fusion World 1st Anniversary Set. Be careful on timing when to buy the above DB sets. For example, SB01 sealed boxes have almost doubled in price in the last week. I do think that SB02, which is currently priced on TCG Player at $240, is underpriced. The top promo card from FW will likely be Super Fusion World Serial Son Goku FP-001 Regionals TOP prize. See first image to this post for what it looks like. There are only 777 of this card in English, all serialized. This card is basically the equivalent to the One Piece Monkey D. Luffy serial card that has only 700 of that card in English. So you can see that Bandai is again taking what has worked from modern One Piece TCG and is applying it to DB FW. There are almost no listings of the serial Goku 1/777 card in English on eBay with authenticity guaranteed and the last sale was over $6000 this week. The top chase card from SB01 is Son Goku Secret Rare Super Alt Art, FB05-119. For a PSA 10 it has a pop count less than 100. That is extraordinarily low. So the combination of SB01 sealed boxes rising in price (making people less inclined to rip those boxes) with the already low pop count for this top chase card released in 2025 will likely skyrocket the value of this card. See second image to this post for what this card looks like. The second best chase card from SB01 is Son Goku: Childhood E-42, Gold Energy Marker. For future FW sets, FB09 is being released in March 2026 and likely will be a hit. Preorders already sold out. There are lots of future catalysts for the longterm potential success of Fusion World. Last week DB made several announcements to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its IP (which is one of the top 20 globally in terms of revenue). Announcements included two new anime TV series. This is important because there have been no new anime episodes since 2018, which is not surprising that the DB TCG last fell off around 2018. Future anime episodes will bring more attention to DB, which in turn should fuel more attention (just like the ongoing One Piece mangas and anime releases) to DB Fusion World.

Publicly announcing this card is heading to auction. So why auction it when I received multiple low five-figure offers at Atlanta Collect-A-Con? Because the Dragon Ball Super community needs more public sales. Too much high-end DBZ changes hands privately. That doesn’t help establish real comps. It doesn’t move the market forward. And right now, we’re in full price-discovery mode. If we want the hobby to grow, we need transparent, recorded sales that set benchmarks. This isn’t just about selling a grail it’s about helping define the ceiling. Hopefully this inspires other collectors holding big pieces to consider going public for the greater good of DBS.

@rarefinds I agree with everything you say, however ignoring masters for investment is not true, some of the biggest beat cards are in masters for example, 2024 finals deluxe energy markers History of Z serialised cards Some GDR such as Son Goku state of the gods I think both are winners

Britain should repurchase America. After all, it was ours once, and it would enhance our North Atlantic security. If you don’t sell it to us, President Trump, we’re going to impose tariffs on the U.S. and any country who supports you in resisting this very good deal. Fair?
