It’s officially baseball season eve for your 2026 #ValleyBoys. Seven seniors this year who have helped the program to 68 wins in their career. Let’s Go! #wvprepbase
I’d rather be wrong with my plan and have a plan then have no plan-Hunt Speeds-if you’re trying to hit the fastball curveball, slider, and change up with 0-0 count your basically 2 strike hitting the whole at bat🤷🏼♂️
Reality of college recruiting:
D1: ~2%
D2: ~2%
NAIA: ~3%
D3: ~3%
Juco: ~7%
It is a privilege to get the opportunity to play college sports at ANY level.
Take your recruitment seriously.
If you don’t think that this is good for baseball, there is something seriously wrong with you…
Baseball will be better when the boomer purists are gone. This is good for the game.
This is absolutely electric & I love every second
Every day at 7PM, taps is played over the loudspeakers at Dallas National Cemetery, just beyond the outfield wall at DBU
During every gameday at 7, they pause to honor the fallen troops buried just beyond the wall
One of the best traditions in sports
“College baseball is so boring”
Nowhere else do you get this less than 20% into the season in a game where you still have to go win again for it to matter
Baseball cares if you can throw a strike 3-2.
Barrel a ball with two outs.
Make the routine play in the 7th.
Handle failure without folding.
The game tells the truth. It doesn’t lie for long.
Training posts are nice.
Performance under pressure wins games. 🔥
There’s two types of coaches in this game:
1️⃣ The Developers
They love the grind.
They see a raw 10th grader and think, “Give me two years.”
They build habits, mindset, discipline, confidence.
They don’t just coach talent — they build it.
2️⃣ The Flex Coaches
They want the 4-star already polished.
They post the offers.
They celebrate the wins.
But they skip the ugly stages the drops, the bad footwork, the immaturity, the weight room growth.
Here’s the truth though…
Real ones develop.
And when development turns into production? That’s when you flex.
The best coaches I’ve seen don’t chase finished products. They create them.
So the real question isn’t which one are you…
It’s which one are your players becoming because of you?
Are they better after a season with you?
Stronger mentally?
More disciplined?
More accountable?
That’s development.
As an AD, I implemented a strength program where every athlete lifts in season with their current team. I challenged coaches to scientifically prove it was not beneficial. No one could.
It eliminated the tug of war over athletes and reinforced what we believe.
