@Juppstein Ideally we would play them on the old hardware, but a CRT filter is the simplest, quickest fix we get. Although most of the filters are not really taking fine changes like different bleeds of different lights into account and are rather rudimentary.

Pixel artists don't dither anymore... yeah clearly.
Technology changed and CRTS and LCDS fundamentally differ in the way how colors and images are displayed.
Nowadays you don't dither, but use more colors to achieve the same effects, because LCD output doesn't blur

@cyangmou Question from someone not in the know: just because the publisher is a big shot doesn't mean a game from an indie team becomes non-indie if the publisher just...publishes and does not outright finance development, right? So going purely by credits might be misleading, no?

A game which uses pixelart is not the same as an indiegame. Unlike 10 years ago, right now there are quite some well funded pixel art games with substantial 7 digit budgets behind.
The indie spirit was always about full independence, wild ideas and about pushing gamedesign ahead.

People need to stop saying Dave the Diver is the indie of the year. That shit was funded by Nexon cmon lol. So many massive publishers hiding their quarter billion influence behind some pixel art nowadays and it's diluting the word indie into nothing.

I think it has monumental qualities, but actually the style has very little to do with the light interaction stuff I was inspired by recently. It's actually a quite drab and heavy painting, so I went and added some nice sunlight on the top part :)
