@jackrichrdson @mathguy13 100% hockey IQ and positioning can cover for average skating (Zub), only issue with Yak is his skating is so far below NHL average. He has excellent offensive IQ, and that could translate to the defensive end, but speed needs to get closer to average for him to hit full potential

@JustinMoitinho @mathguy13 I wouldn’t say a guy like Zub is fast. There are ways to be positionally sound when skating isn’t your best asset. I think Yak can do it

This is what I see when I watch Yakemchuk. He’s a smart player that will learn how to play defense as he gets older and fills into his frame a bit more. Skating will be the next thing he needs to improve, but the toolbox is there. Rangy, big and physical.

@jackrichrdson @mathguy13 Agree with the balance and strength aspects, but being slow is a hinderance that will limit his playability. One thing for Fowards to be slower (Stone, Tavares, Brady) but slow defenceman will always get exposed. NHL is only getting faster, needs to be his focus going forward

@mathguy13 You can be slow, just need good balance and to be strong on your skates. That’ll come with age.

@SensBuzz Foegele should have have replaced Giroux on that line games ago. Lets you put Batherson back on RW, gives you more speed and a nose for the net. Move Cousins back to 4LW and reunite Giroux - Pinto and Amadio. This isn’t rocket science.

Tim Stützle has 4 Points in his last 14 Games minus special teams and empty netters (12 instead 14 with) Which is sad cuz he’s been pretty freaking good. Giroux has been an absolute terrorist and is locked to RW and Batherson’s been inconsistent on the LW (though I thought he played well today) Giroux for anybody that can shoot the puck and play LW would be massive, he’s got 5 Points in his last 14 Games

We deserve an explanation for why James Reimer got the nod today.

@alexadamsBTP_ Why the hell was Ullmark not in the net? I understand he’s play a lot recently, but we just had a 3 week break, and he had a few week off before that. He’s played 42 games all year, it’s Tampa, and he’s your highest cap hit contract. WTF

The Senators have had plenty of gutting losses this season. Today might take the cake. Can't blow a 2-0 lead, just can't. The #sens don't control their playoff destiny.

@ShackTS This is the 6th game for both teams since April 16th. I can appreciate that the Pens had a 3 game homestand while the Sens were on the road, but this is a make or break point in the season.

@SteveWarneMedia This is giving me flashbacks to the DJ Smith era. Walking (not running) around like headless chickens in our own zone, blowing the dzone and dumping with no chase.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen the Senators just surviving the way they are right now in the defensive zone.

Sens definitely not as sharp tonight. On their way to a 2nd straight 30+ shots against night. With no Crosby/Malkin, game should be there's to take

@SensBuzz Love Giroux, but its painfully obvious he doesn’t have the legs to keep up with 18 and 19 anymore. He still has the hands and brains, but his legs cant get him to the right spots quick enough anymore. Would love to see Foegele get a crack on the left with Timmy and Drake.

Kinda wanna see the Timmy line takeover tmrw now, there’s been a lot of attention to Brady but that lines been great all year Feels like 19 and 28 should be doing more with 18 at 5v5 I actually wouldn’t mind a temporary line of Foegele - Timmy - Zetterlund while we’re at it

@SensCentral Brady needs to wake up and Timmy needs to stop trying to big brain everything and keep it simple. Dman have played great, maybe look to have Amadio and Foegele rotate on D considering we play again tomorrow?

@jackrichrdson He needs a legit goal scorer to play with him and Batherson. Spence has shown he’s ready for top 4, so a goal scorer should be the focus. Problem is this free agent class is horrible, so you are going to be subtracting from somewhere to add to the top 6 in a trade.

Thought Stützle was fighting it last night but he beared down and tried to make something happen in the third. Remarkable to watch when he revs up the engine. He needs wingers with a similar motor. Should be Staios’ #1 priority this summer IMO.

@ShackTS Being lazy. Nobody wants to go to the dirty areas, lots of perimeter play, one and dones.
