The woman next to my house has been shouting at her househelp since morning and asking her what the househelp did to her children. She said her own children likes her househelp more than her and that they eat the food prepared by their househelp more than they enjoy their mother's food. If the househelp travels home to see her own family, the children will fall sick missing her. Until she comes back before they will be alright. She is accusing her househelp of bewitching her children. But I'm thinking, how can your own children like your househelp more than you their own mother?

My husband earns ₦950k monthly as his basic salary, excluding bonuses. He gives me ₦300k every month for feeding the family. We have two children whose combined school fees are ₦140k per term. I'm a housewife because my husband asked me to stop working and focus on raising the children. He said they needed their mother at this early stage. Recently, my brother in Germany sent me ₦1 million as a birthday gift. I told my husband about it, and he asked what I planned to do with the money. I told him I didn't have any concrete plans yet, but I was thinking of putting about 80% of it in a fixed deposit and using the rest to buy new clothes for the kids. He then suggested that I use the money to pay our next year's rent and also pay two terms of the children's school fees in advance. According to him, that would take some financial pressure off him, and that I didn’t need to keep money aside for emergencies because he would handle any emergency that came up. Our annual rent for our one-bedroom apartment is ₦650k. When I did the calculations, I realized I would have little or nothing left after paying the rent and school fees, so I refused. That decision led to a huge argument. He said I wasn't being a supportive wife and is now threatening to leave the house and stay away until I do what he asked. Am I wrong for refusing? He doesn't give me any personal allowance apart from the feeding money, and now that I finally have money of my own, he wants me to spend it on responsibilities he already takes care of. Is that fair?
