@Buho_Mervalero @NYPostOpinion "Milei is trying to move away Argentina from a system that was more heavily socialist than literal communist countries." The wealthy are looting the country and it's being propped up by the IMF and the US state. WHEN it collapses you will ignorantly blame "socialism".

@KaleckiWasRight @NYPostOpinion Milei is trying to move away Argentina from a system that was more heavily socialist than literal communist countries. If you think your examples were a gotcha you really failed because we had all of that and some of it was extremely heavy handed.

@Buho_Mervalero @NYPostOpinion Your responses are silly. No one that knows anything about the Chinese system would say that Argentina is a more state centric economics system. It's stupid to claim so. Has the IMF done anything in Argnetina? Hm? Menem? Did China ever do that, under the IMF boot? Grow up.

@KaleckiWasRight @NYPostOpinion When you have experienced going to a store and not being able to find the products you want because price controls created shortages of them, you can talk about it. Not even China has that problem. But 2023 Argentina did.

@jacksonhinklle The second the IMF and the US state stops propping it up, it collapses. And then all the silly zombies on the right will blame "socialism" when it does.

@Buho_Mervalero @NYPostOpinion Chinese companies on the Fortune 500 are state owned enterprises. The state employs capital controls, price controls, and comprehensive economic planning. The state plays a central role in developing housing, healthcare, and now a national pension system. Argentina did what in

@note61763 @TheAliceSmith comprehensive economic planning. I could go on. If I proposed that exact system, you would refer to it as a "free market"? We call Bernie a socialist, and he's not proposing that. Just admit that people like you use these terms in ways that are not consistent at all.

@note61763 @TheAliceSmith Oh, grow up. 80% of Chinese companies on the Fortune 500 are state owned enterprises, which also own most of the enterprise assets. All land, rivers, and lakes are publicly owned. State owned banks are central to its system. They employ price controls, capital controls and

@Buho_Mervalero @NYPostOpinion LOL! "Economic freedom". You say that phrase as if its clear what it means and as if others wouldn't have disagreements about whether or not what you support is actual freedom. If I am free to pollute the air you breathe, are you free of my pollution? Did you consent to that?

@obbershobbs @asatarbair comprehensive economic planning. The worker owned enterprise sector is massive and growing. I could go on. To ignore the role of the state when its central to the entire system is logically absurd and if I proposed that system here, would you hesitate to call it socialist? No.

@BreeNewsome It's pretty mind blowing how much Trump has been able to destroy in such a short amount of time. I don't care, as an American, to see the US empire wind down, or its imperialism. But, there's a humane way to do that, to transition to something better & there's societal collapse

@JackBauerAD @TheAliceSmith Most of the reduction in recent comes from China. People can call China capitalist, but I have to assume that they don't know much about China's economic system, or what words like capitalism or socialism mean. If I proposed that system here, you wouldn't call it capitalist

@TheAliceSmith Gonna stroll through the replies to see if any idiots tried to say, "No, this was happen because of technological advances, not capitalism." Yeah, and in what type of economies the vast majority of the tech advances come from?

@mrxmsa @TheAliceSmith Most of the reduction comes from China. And please don't pretend that China is a capitalist economic system. If I proposed that very system in the US, there is no chance that you would call it capitalism. Ever read any economists that were or are market socialists?

@chinafutureclub China has developed with a central role for state owned banks, support form state owned enterprises at different levels of production, and comprehensive economic planning. The idea that competition alone will save US automakers isn't true. Doesn't really explain China's rise.

Americans NOT being able to buy Chinese EVs is going to destroy the American car industry. If you shelter American car manufacturers from competition, the Chinese companies will lap them so badly that entire legacy car brands will disappear. It’s already happening in Japan!
