Disabled people are not expendable We aren’t “less than” We aren’t “getting a free ride” Being chronically ill is not like being on vacation Receiving benefits or any type of support is not easy The system is designed to dehumanize, discourage & punish

@AliArthPainter I desperately miss work. I want to do things, actually use my PhD (I got MS the same year I graduated, which was also 2020, great timing /s), be productive. I actively hate spending most of my time in bed, exhausted. People also think we’re just lazing around, doing fun things…

Being able to work is a privilege. Needing to work isn't a privilege. People who can't work due to disability or sickness are not privileged.

The Passover story is one of liberation. It should inspire us to fight for liberation for all. The promised land will never require be built on violent ethno nationalism. When we say “next year in Jerusalem” I hope we are praying for peace

I don’t want to go into it again here, the full explanation with links to the threads of multiple of Ci’s victims is on my 🦋 account. You can also contact me for direct links (but I get so much spam DMs here I may not see it, so discord, bsky, and email are better bets) 3/3

I am one of multiple community leaders of marginalized communities who he convinced he was a good hearted and giving person. I legitimately thought he was one of my best streamer friends. I now don’t believe my friend ever existed. 2/3

I just realized I never shared here. But Ciaran/ChaiCiLatte has proven to be a manipulative abuser who boundary pushes his partners to the point of SA, and then paints said partners as abusive and ruins their reputations. He is not safe to have in your communities. 1/3

Disability is the only minority group you can join at any time. No one asks for it or expects it, it just happens It’s not a moral failing. You didn’t deserve it. Most people will experience disability at some point in their lives So why do we treat disabled people so badly? 🧵

“What are disabled people high risk for severe COVID supposed to do if they ban the vaccine?” Die. We are supposed to get sick and die. Don’t you get it yet? The mask bans, expansion of state power to force institutionalization, expansion of MAID, etc etc are so that we DIE

Figuring out how to properly pace yourself as a chronically ill person is like the world’s hardest game of sudoku. I’m sure there is a right answer somewhere in there but I don’t have enough information to figure it out.

A lot of white disabled people that say they're supportive of marginalized people. Mean only the white disabled ones. Cause why don't you acknowledge Black History Month. Why do you block Black disabled people that speak up on the racism they face in the disability community.

perhaps it’s worth saying because it’s not automatically clear to many ciis people: having a gender marker that doesn’t match your appearance is a safety issue.

I just recently went from provisional certified to full certified for my job, and apparently my boss wants to give me the secondary lead role. So basically I'll be one of the two people in the shift that could be lead if our lead is off for the day Oh gawd I hope I can do this

A doctor posted earlier that she saved a life because she believed her patient. She described him as “strong”, a father, a firefighter. Someone who wouldn’t complain for no reason. How can HCWs not realize this bias insinuates others DO complain for no reason? 🧵

Try replacing a no politics rule with a no bigotry rule. Too many of us have been told not to talk about our identities in no politics streams. Because marginalized lives are politicized. You want to avoid arguments and debates, but make it a place we feel welcome? 1/5
