@McBrideLawNYC We have bishops( Overseers, presbyters, pastors- 1 Peter 5:1-4- all 3 terms used; Titus 1:5-7; Acts 20:17, 28) & the Lord's supper(Eucharist = Thanksgiving) & honor our pastors, so Ignatius is NOT a problem for Biblical Protestants

He was St. John's disciple & wrote this in 108 AD!
Respect the Bishop as to Christ Himself.
If any one not be within the altar, he is deprived of the bread of God.
(Ignatius uses bread of God and Eucharist interchangeably in his letters)

Mary is not the mother of the Father. Mary is not the Mother of the Spirit. Mary is the mother of the Son- who is fully God. Mary is the mother of God. This was settled in the council of Ephesus in the 400s.

As we approach Easter weekend, remember the gospel message. Jesus Christ lived the perfect life we cannot live and died the death that we deserve. Cyprian & 86 bishops in 257 AD -"no one has the right to call himself bishop of bishops"

@LeoHaydock @MPloughboy @CapturingChrist Clement also (96AD) used presbyters & bishops interchangeably-1 Clement 42-44, which reflects earlier clear teaching in Scripture-Titus 1:5-7; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Acts 20:17, 28; Philippians 1:1; 1 Tim. 3. They all earlier than Ignatius. (Congregational overseer, like a senior pastor)
