What better way to kick off the spring semester than with the Catalyst Institute?! Thank you to our participants and to @leadershape for making today possible.

Last night, our Flash Fellows were able to meet their mentors. We enjoyed a meal together, had an opportunity to network, and discussed the cycle of mentorship. What a great way to end the semester!

Earlier this summer, our team had the opportunity to facilitate a week-long leadership workshop with undergraduate students visiting from Brazil. Thank you to the Office of Global Education for this collaboration!

Congratulations to Gavin Aitken, one of our SLCs, who graduated with his BA in Communication Studies! Gavin will be headed to the UTK to pursue a graduate degree in higher education. We are so proud of him and cannot wait to see all that he accomplishes! 🎉

Gavin got a little surprise from @KentStateCareer today! We’re so excited to share he’s been named as a finalist for the Inspirational Leadership Award 🎉 We can’t wait for the Student Employee Awards Celebration in a few weeks!

SLC Amanda Vesely hosted a great workshop today on the role of personal values in leadership. This was her first solo workshop and she did an amazing job facilitating! Be sure to mark your calendars for our next workshop on 2/14 from 12-1 PM.

We had a great first day of CLC! Our team cannot wait to learn more about intentionally applying leadership skills and putting those skills to the test. AND we’ve already got a good feeling about how we’ll do at the competition! 🏆

Last week our SLOMs enjoyed lunch with our division leadership. A huge thank you to the students for the impact they’ve made on our campus community, and to our division leadership for their commitment to fostering student leadership!

Yesterday we hosted a panel of student leaders who shared their KSU experience with our FYE class. They discussed their leadership journeys, how they found community on campus, and what led them to their field of study. We’re so grateful to have been able to connect our freshmen!

Join us on Thursday, 9/1, from 4-5 PM in the Kent State Leadership Center, as we interview Sage Mason (she/her) about her leadership experience at KSU! Refreshments will be provided.

Our team had the opportunity to spend some time with students from the American Academy in Brazil this week. We discussed the idea of leadership across cultures and spent time learning about our different leadership journeys.
