Billy the Kid & Prudence Kitten reporting. The museum is closed, except for Sundays until the end of October, and will reopen April 2026. Pre-booked visits from WIs, dementia support groups, etc. are very welcome. We will be ever vigilant, of course. 😼

#Fridaymornings ~ this was last weeks #chickenfriday 🍗. Volunteers arrive give them their brekkies, clean the cottages & get all the jobs done. The cats are ready for what happens next. It's #chickentime 😹 when the volunteers feed chicken & spend time with them #villagelife💖🐾

@KnightonMuseum I wish you a solid recovery, a friend had this done a year ago, at 88, is fine now.

Back home after knee replacement surgery at St Woolas in Newport. I think the cats missed me. Prudence has been with me all night - helping me keep my legs straight.

@KnightonMuseum Those display boxes contains the Showboat cakes wer pretty common around the Midlands in the 50’s. Incidentally if you haven’t already done so Google Kunzle there’s lots of interesting information.

My pleasure Julia,I certainly do remember Kunzle chocolate cakes sold in their shops and also many other tearooms and cake shops used to sell them as well.

@TheStourbridge Many years ago, we took our ginger and white tom to a vet in Stourbridge because of a rat bite. The vet put his hand in the basket and Ben came out attached to his whole arm. I suspect the vet needed the antibiotics!

I have returned from the Vet n Hairy Persons with what they claim is a “bite wound” on my leg. Personally I prefer “heroic battle injury whilst defending the station.” I received an antibiotic jab (outrageous) and painkillers which are now being sneakily hidden in my food.

@KnightonMuseum No they are from Portugal. I bought them years ago. Possibly over 30 years ago 😂

They’ve just said on Flog it! (UK BBC programme) that people don’t put china plates on the wall now. We beg to differ!

@MargLloyd Wow are the first ones from Spain? We’ve got a similar lobster one that l bought years ago from the Portuguese shop in Tenbury Wells. Love the others too.
