Dr Julia Grace Patterson💙
Once again, The Guardian highlights one-sided letters. This time criticising the BMA for expressing concern that non-doctors are covering doctor rotas in many places. This is ridiculous. If a doctor didn’t need to be on those rotas, they wouldn’t be called doctor rotas. Can…

16/4/26 - I asked effectively, who "can triage in single point of access?" I got a holding answer - see 👇 On the last day of Parliament, I have been told: "It has not proved possible to respond"..."in the time available" Why? The contract was imposed on 1st April 26. 👇

Today, another holding answer 👇 Why is the Government not able to answer a simple question - who is assessing in the Single Point of Access? 🤔 I will keep trying to find out. 1/2

@cazzbeale @SteelerGoalie94 That new online system is being forced on GP surgeries by the government. It’s a disgrace. Your need for an urgent appointment isn’t trusted. It gets “triaged.” I found it so horrible and 1984 that I complained to the Practice Manager. All GPs should be writing to their MPs.

“NHS England missed chances to train more radiologists this year by announcing its funding too late. This mistake must not be repeated, or there will not be enough radiologists to interpret scans and patients will continue to face agonising waits for diagnosis.” @RCRadiologists
The Royal College of Radiologists@RCRadiologists

In today's @thetimes, @DrDLittle warns a radiologist shortage is delaying cancer diagnosis. "More scanners are important for earlier cancer detection, but without more radiologists to interpret extra scans, backlogs & delays will grow." Read the letter➡️bit.ly/423g9u8

For anyone thinking of voting Reform, they will get rid of the NHS, you will pay huge health insurance premiums each month (in the US $500-$900 per month), BUT that won’t cover you for hospital stays. That’s another huge bill. I have cancer. My husband and I would be bankrupt.

🔥Pub 2013: 74-yo man patient with metastatic colon cancer liver/lung metastases, failed treatment with capecitabine/oxaliplatin/becacizumab. Mebendazole (200mg daily) for 42 days resulted in near complete remission of lungs/lymph nodes metastases/good partial remission in liver. "Second line treatment with capecitabine and irinotecan was started in December 2012." "first evaluation March 2013, significant progression was observed in the lungs and abdominal lymph nodes and there were new partly poorly defined liver metastases up to 8 cm in diameter" "In this situation with no standard therapy left, the drug screen observation in mind, the recent preclinical finding of antitumour effects of mebendazole in a mice model and a case report indicating anti-tumour effect from mebendazole in a patient with metastatic adrenocortical carcinoma" "patient, after informed consent, started mebendazole at the standard antihelmintic dose of 100 mg twice daily, to be continued for six weeks." "The patient experienced no adverse effects from the treatment" "CT evaluation May 2013 there was near complete remission of the metastases in the lungs and lymph nodes and a good partial remission in the liver" "We conclude that mebendazole is seemingly a promising ‘new’ drug for treatment of advanced colorectal cancer." Streeting's responsible for the demise of our NHS. His 3rd rate health care replacing Drs with underqualified substitutes. His terminology, 'Reform' a pseudonym for his privatisation scheme. He's laughing all the way to his off shore account.
Dr Steve Taylor@DrSteveTaylor

There is a a whiff of something at the heart of the reforms which mean it’s even more concerning Power with SoS & DHSC, reduced checks & balances NHSE gone, NICE curtailed, GP data control under threat One wonders what is behind the rapid top-down changes despite promises

I will never be not bemused by how many national leaders & organisations lost their collective voice and spine when it came to International Medical Graduates. Especially the IMGs themselves in positions of authority Par for the course however when they adopt a similar attitude when it comes to safety of the public Cos whatever they are told to do- they will do. The lure of that seat >> Integrity Facts of #NHS leadership.
