Ken LA7GIA (3Y0K Team lead):
We just finished a very successful expedition to Bouvetøya in the South Atlantic Ocean. What an incredible trip! Depsite all the challenges, the team overcome each of them. We made contact with 102.000 persons during our 15 day stay. We encountered harsh conditions, snow, and wind sometimes was so strong we could barely walk outdoor. Bouvetøya is a beautiful island, but is known for its remoteness and unpredictable weather. The team worked well together and we're proud of having made 100k contacts under these conditions. Today everyone is safely back on the vessel and we're bound for Cape Town this weekend. Thanks to everyon who supported us and who was in the pileup!
@DTelegrafo@DAILYDX@EA1CS DX world has been removed as corporate 3YØK sponsor for providing a plattform for the haters to post shit, not only abt this but other expeditions. We need to speak up as he threathens the DXpeditioners to put his logo on the web, or he will hurt the funding
Congratulations on this post.
That's life, Wayne. Sabotaging fellow members with empty words on forums is commonplace in our hobby...
And then there's the damage DxWorld has done to the project. Only the team, @DAILYDX Dx, and @EA1CS DX INFO know what's really going on in ZS.
@DTelegrafo@DAILYDX@EA1CS DX World has been removed as corporate sponsor for publishing false, unverified information with the intent to damage the expedition. If you earn money on publishing DX news you should follow certain ethical standards and not publish gossip
@DTelegrafo He is dividing the ham radio community, he post fake news and has no ethical standard. We will let a Norwegian court order speak for itself.
DX World has disappeared as a corporate entity since 3Y0K. He was undoubtedly a self-serving individual, lacking in #HamSpirit, and he took the wrong side by supporting opponents of the Bouvet deal.
Visited Old town Damascus, Umayyad mosque and Ministry building. My second visit in Damacus at SY-TPRA , but no conscent yet for license for any nationality. But there will be when time is right. Very friendly, great hospitality and safe. Tomorrow more sightseeing and great food!
3YØK have paid the $400,000 vessel deposit today! This weekend the team meet in Oslo for packing the container, and it will be shipped in 1 month. Our plans are firm, and we have lined up the equipment in a staged approach, where equipment will be taken onshore with helicopter.
ONE seat left for Bouvet adventure! Get in touch if you fancy a cold trip that involves assembling antennas in strong wind. We offer sleeping on ground, panoramic view from restroom and MRE meals. Cluster will provide feedback on your operating skill. No glory, only hard work.
Lotto is being refunded. The operator fee has increased by an average of 40%. If you want to support our Bouvet Island effort please donate via donate@3y0k.com. In a few weeks time we pay $400,000 vessel deposit and by that time we have paid in total apprx $1,000,000
The 3Y0K team has started an online lottery with great prizes to raise funds for the 2026 DXpedition to Bouvet Island. Tell all your friends and spread the word! The tickets are $10 and the lottery webpage has all the details: 3y0k.com/lottery
Thank you for your support!
