LAPD News: Critical Missing 78-Year-Old Man

An apparent firearm was recovered at scene. That item will be booked and analyzed. Our Force Investigation Division is here conducting a thorough investigation. We ask for the community’s patience as the area of 7th & Ceres is closed and will be impacted.

LAFD paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he is currently undergoing surgery but was listed in stable condition. No officers or any other community members were injured during this incident.

LAPD News: Officer-Involved Shooting investigation in Central Area in the area of 7th Street and Ceres Avenue. A PIO is enroute. Media staging is at 6th Street and Ceres Avenue.

LAPD News: Two arrests were made during the Academy Awards operational period. At 3:15pm, at Sunset/Highland 1 person was arrested for 647(C)PC. At 6:15pm, 1 person was placed under private person arrest for trespassing at 6801 Hollywood Blvd.

Ofcrs attempted to communicate with the suspect, the suspect retrieved what appeared to be a firearm and an OIS occurred. The suspect was struck by gunfire and pronounced deceased at the scene. No ofcrs or additional people were injured.
