LOVE THE CAMERON CARR PICK
BUT WILL MISS LUKE KENNARD!
Love the comparisons to Trey Murphy III and Derrick Jones, Jr. Lakers now have an elite pair of young wings in Adou Thiero and Cam Carr.
Carr is the perfect guard to play alongside Luka Doncic. He shot 37.4% of 6.1 3PA pg, a legitimate volume 3-point shooter with deep range. A potential elite shot blocker and lob threat from the corner or on the break as a guard. That 7' 1" wingspan. Wow!
Luka will love throwing lobs to Cam Carr! That 42.5" max vertical and the ability to palm the ball way back for tomahawk dunks is going to turn Crypto crazy.
Carr will unfortunately probably lead to Lakers letting Luke Kennard walk in free agency. Cam will certainly be Austin Reaves' backup at shooting guard.
Will need to add muscle in order to be elite defender but the shot blocking and athleticism is real. Luka is going to love playing with this guy. I can't wait for summer league to see Adou and Cam play.
Finally, best of all, Carr could be even more valuable as a trading chip the Lakers could flip than the #25 pick in the draft was. LA's 2031 and 2033 first round picks plus Cam Carr is more desirable than the 2025 #25 pick and 2031 and 2033 first round picks.
There are still some excellent prospects (Henri Veesaar, Isaiah Evans, Baba Miller) available in the second round. Would love to see Lakers buy a second round pick and add another potential rotation player.
Lakers just signed this 6’9 Center “William Kyle III” 😳🔥
