As someone who grew up in the San Joaquin Valley, this is about the most unsurprising thing ever. Not him being a rapist specifically, but The Beloved Labor Leader being a piece of shit was well known. Chavez's dudes used to beat the fuck out of illegals who were cutting in on their gigs and leave their unconscious bodies in our drainage ditches.

Ah a coordinated effort to erase history and pioneers who have helped our communities. The eviction process is a 1000-step journey. The lay person loves to talk about the 1000th step but never steps 1 through 999. "I'm 2 weeks away from homelessness!" "I am 71 years old with lung cancer and I was evicted from my home by Sinai Law Firm" My job is walking 1000 steps. I see the journey start to finish. If someone hears about step 1000, they will assume I am a horrible person. I did evict someone with lung cancer, 71 years old. If you heard the entire story, you would agree with me, my client, the judge, and unanimous jury decision in that case, the 9th civil action between the parties. "I'm facing homelessness!" These are the kind of statements you hear in city council meetings when they vote on another silly law to protect tenants. You hear it when you read a LA Times story about the "housing crisis" (there's no housing crisis) and how the single father got evicted and his daughter might not be able to go to school now because they have to move. How they got there always gets lost in the weeds. To this girl's credit, she lays it all out almost to a point of parody (maybe the joke's on me). If you could hear every 1000 journey I've had you would have the same reaction as watching this video. I don't know how to tell 1000 step journey is one sentence. Story telling is part of the missing piece for landlords.

Angelo Gasca, who has been coaching football at Venice High for 36 years, died last night, according to his longtime friend Steve Clarkson. He was a special education teacher and coach. He helped countless students and players find their way in life. As I write this, I'm crying.
