Kids are not falling behind. They are surviving a pandemic.

I know we’re supposed to make our decisions based on the needs of the students... but we can never discount the needs of the adults in the school. They’re the ones taking care of the kids. And they want what’s best for students as well.

Today I asked a student why she loved a certain teacher. “She always interacts with us. She takes the time to figure out what we’re thinking as teenagers...and how we learn.” I love listening to what students say about the teachers they admire. And I’m seldom surprised.
