#Outcome (AppleTV tomorrow): Great concept but Jonah Hill chose to have it both ways: a manic, over the top Hollywood satire comedy and a 'making amends', introspective drama (à la Sam Elliott's "The Hero"). Has its moments but too often unpleasant, unfunny, uneven & overstuffed.

Next two #Oscars ceremonies — the final two on ABC before show goes to YouTube — will be in the month of March. Don't be surprised if the ratings drop again next year because of another awards season that will go on too long. Likely slight increase in interest for 100th ceremony.

Screened #CouplesWeekend last June through #Tribeca At Home, under its original title "A Tree Fell in the Woods". Ensemble comedy is being released by Vertical in theaters and on digital May 8th.

Remembering Roger Ebert 13 years after his passing.

#TheDrama had a concept but didn’t really know what to do with it. Makes a couple points early on about reactions and emotions but the commentary doesn’t go deep enough. Editing tricks too distracting. Sloppy, obvious, over the top final act instead of conclusion with substance.

#TheSuperMarioGalaxyMovie had an even bigger opening day than “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” in 2023. Wahoo! @Target @illumination

#TheSuperMarioGalaxyMovie is filled with chase sequences, big Marvel-esque action and very amusing visuals that celebrate multiple animation styles and the many characters in the beloved video game franchise. Yoshi’s fun (my favorite as a kid). Glen Powell’s great as Fox McCloud.
