Two beautiful days at Elbow Lake participating in "Literacy on the Land" with Kindergarten educators from across the @LimestoneDSB. We engaged in land-based learning, and spent time reflecting, connecting, and standing in gratitude, together.

Honoured to have had the opportunity to represent @LimestoneDSB this past weekend as a speaker at @IDA_Ontario #LitLearn2025 alongside the incredible @LITLearningLDSB A great weekend of learning alongside a devoted team. Looking forward to brining our learning into the system!

Day 2 of the #LitLearn2025 conf. was inspiring!Started the day👂🏽ing to @tpham62 on Talk Moves, to exploring teaching writing w/ self-regulated strategy development w/ @MonsieurIngola & @LITLearningLDSB to hearing, Dr. Reid Lyon, speak on a revolution in reading education.

@EmmaNahna Yes! We took the D strand (writing) and sorted almost all expectations within the POWeR cycle. Then, added in other expectations based on the mentor text/prompt we were using. Over 20 expectations could be hit w/ a Power Cycle connected to content areas. Such rich learning!

@LITLearningLDSB I love the sorting activity I see there - placing ?standards ?learning outcomes into the PoWER cycle.

We had our second day of the LDSB thinkSRSD pilot project today. Educators from across the district came together to share their work, reflect on the process & dig into more thinkSRSD learning. Thanks to everyone who joined us today. Great things are happening in Limestone!
