@Trees307 An $8 mil dollar budget is nothing to sneeze at, when the SEC averaged around $5m-$12m this year. It's going to be one excuse after another for Paris (which I was VERY in favor of when he was looked at), but 3 historically bad years in 4 doesn't mean there shouldn't be a change.

The fact of the matter is this, and it’s real simple. We can fire the staff. Send em to wherever. Every prospective coach’s first question will be “what’s my budget?” Our response to that question is “not even close to what everyone else in the conference has. We also have no history. No one comes to games. No one cares about basketball. In fact, most fans want the program shut down. You in?” And that’s where anyone who actually likes the sport decides to pursue other ventures. You know how mentally insane you’d have to be to take this job? Next coach comes in and we’re going 6-25 a couple times and the door revolves. It’s a losing battle. We will never compete in basketball. The second paying players was on the table, that hope was gone. Sure, we catch lightning in a bottle and make the tournament once every 10 years. But that’s about what we can do as it stands right now. I’m all for paying players. It’s just that we can’t compete in paying basketball players. My gripes with the staff, and specifically Lamont, are deep. I have many. Cause I’ve seen the way it’s changed over the years. There was a time when he’d let his guys rip on a fast break. There was a time when his post schemes were different. It kills me. I don’t defend him blindly. I watched it work. But we’re not doing those things. And it sucks. 304th in D1 in fast break points pisses me off man. Trust me. I’m angry. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows over here.
