@HelloMrDanny @BBonuedi @karimkai The team from Desmos has in fact been improving it every day for years - while keeping it stable and familiar for end users. It will be the exact same team of people, now inside Amplify, who will continue doing that job.

Huge news out of Desmos today. The curriculum (and as far as I can tell, Activity Builder) is being acquired by Amplify. Meanwhile, the calculator will spin off as a separate company, Desmos Studio. This is gigantic. Tectonic. But is it good?

@BBonuedi @karimkai As the CEO of Amplify, I commit that AB will continue to remain free for teachers and students and will continue to improve in perpetuity (I will eat my TI-59 Calculator from 1979 if we break that commitment).

@karimkai I’m worried about whether AB will continue to be free. I use it a ton and have built many activities.

what is with this tendency in the ed sector towards terrible, redundant modifiers? i.e., "strategic leadership," "transformational innovation," and "dramatically better?"

Maybe it wasn’t such a great idea to reduce the number of classes that teach civics, democracy and American history?
